Women's wedding rings FAQ

Both engagement rings and wedding bands are traditionally worn on the left ring finger. Regardless of whether you follow this tradition or not, an important rule is to measure your ring size before you purchase your ring. This ensures a perfect fit on whatever finger you might decide to wear it.

Many choose to wear their engagement ring and wedding band together on the same hand. Traditionally, the engagement ring is worn from the time of your engagement up until your wedding; most continue to wear their engagement ring every day for the rest of their lives. Wedding rings are worn from your wedding day on. When stacked together, the wedding band goes first. How you choose to wear your wedding ring, however, is a personal choice.

The average size for a woman’s wedding ring is size 6. A petite woman with smaller hands or thinner fingers will likely wear a size 4 ring. The vast majority of women order rings sizes 5 through 7, but size 6 remains the most common ring size.

Wedding rings should be cleaned once a week to keep them shining bright and germ-free.

A simple weekly cleaning routine involves soaking your ring in a small bowl filled with warm water and a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap. After thirty to forty five minutes, remove the ring and brush it gently with a soft-bristle toothbrush, then rinse and pat dry with a soft towel. VRAI wedding bands are also eligible for a complimentary annual cleaning through our Lifetime Care Package.
