The level of precision craftsmanship involved in polishing diamond to exacting standards requires unmatched skill.
With over four generations of diamond cutting experience, our master cutters have built polishing operations for the more precious diamonds at renown brands.
They scouted the world and built a workshop for VRAI in Xi’an, China, a city with 5,000 years of history, the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta monument, the largest burial site in human history. Metal plating was invented there several thousand years before it was in Europe.
We pay top wages for quality craftsmanship in our diamond cutting workshop. Many team members have been with us for a decade and longer.
About the Cushion cut
Called a “Cushion” for its pillow-like appearance, this soft square shape features rounded corners and a brilliant cut. Large facets highlight clarity, disguise inclusions and maximize radiance. Although they are not as brilliant as Round cut diamond shapes, they have a greater fire, meaning they will display more bright colors from within the gem when viewed at different angles. Cushion cuts are considered modern versions of the Old Mine Cut, the most popular round diamond cut through the early 1900s, giving them a vintage-inspired look.
